Customers’ mailbox passwords no longer visible to Resellers
With our ongoing focus on tightening security, resellers are no longer able to view or change passwords for end-user mailboxes.
This means that when your customer asks you what their mailbox password is, or asks you to change it, you will be unable to do so.
However, your customer can change their own password by the following steps:
- Log into the eXtend Control Panel with their domain name and password.
- Go to Mailboxes.
- Select the row of the email address that needs a password reset.
- Enter in a new password in the “Change Password” column.
- Click “Modify”.
- The password will be changed.
If needed, you can change the password to the eXtend Control Panel by:
- Log into your Reseller Control Centre.
- Go to the Manage Hosting Accounts page.
- Click “Customer” in the “Control Panel” column for the site you want to edit.
- Scroll down to “Control Panel Password” on the right side menu.
- Enter in a new password.
- Click “Change”.
- Your customers’ password will be changed and they will be able to log into their eXtend Control Panel.
If you are concerned about your customers’ access to eXtend, you can adjust what they see in the control panel by the following steps:
- Log into your Reseller Control Centre.
- Go to the Manage Hosting Accounts page.
- Click “Edit” for the hosting package you want to edit.
- Set to 0 anything you do not want your customer to see in eXtend (except for Mailboxes).
- Click “Next”.
- Untick anything you do not want your customer to see on the next two pages.
- Click “Edit Package”.
- Their eXtend Control Panel will now be only what you want them to see.
